Getting There

Travel by ferry from the City, get on your bike and ride, take the train or travel by car.

The Punt will take cyclists across the river from Port Melbourne (Fishermans Bend) to Spotswood, just behind Scienceworks. Commuter service operates Monday to Friday 6.30am to 9.30pm and 4pm to 7pm. Weekend service operates 10am to 5pm. http://www.westgatepunt.com/

Get out and about and Discover Your Own Backyard today. Drop into the Visitor Information Centre located in Commonwealth Reserve, Nelson Place, Williamstown to speak with local volunteers who can assist you with ideas for things to see and do.

Free Heritage Walking Tours

6th September to 29th November

Step Back in time and unlock the secrets of Williamstown with free guided heritage walking tours.  Meet at the Hobsons Bay Visitor Information Centre, Commonwealth reserve, Nelson Place, Williamstown.  Walks take place on Tuesdays and Fridays at 11.45 am.  For further information, call 9932 4310 or visit http://www.hobsonsbaytickets.com.au/

Tenacious tall ship

From 14 August
Tenacious is one of only two tall ships in the world designed to be sailed by a crew with widely varied physical abilities. Every aspect of shipboard life is available to all, from setting the sails, going aloft and helming the ship.  

Open days are Wednesday 17 August, Thursday 1st September, Friday 2nd September 

Public sail Days areSaturday 24th September, Sunday 25th September, Saturday 19th november, Sunday 20th November, and Sunday 27th November.

Around the Bay in a Day: Altona Beach Break

9th October

Around the Bay in a Day is Australia’s largest mass participation cycling event. The BUPA 50 kilometre ride departs Alexandra Gardens in the city and the route takes riders through Spotswood, Newport and Williamstown before arriving at Logan Reserve in Altona. Logan Reserve is the turning point for the journey. There will be free entertainment provided until noon. Held at Logan Reserve, Pier Street, the Altona route through Hobsons Bay from 9.15am to 12 noon.
