Getting There

Travel by ferry from the City, get on your bike and ride, take the train or travel by car.

The Punt will take cyclists across the river from Port Melbourne (Fishermans Bend) to Spotswood, just behind Scienceworks. Commuter service operates Monday to Friday 6.30am to 9.30pm and 4pm to 7pm. Weekend service operates 10am to 5pm. http://www.westgatepunt.com/

Get out and about and Discover Your Own Backyard today. Drop into the Visitor Information Centre located in Commonwealth Reserve, Nelson Place, Williamstown to speak with local volunteers who can assist you with ideas for things to see and do.

Williamstown Christmas Night Market

8th December

Presented by the Williamstown Chamber of Commerce. Celebrate the festive season at Williamstown, with vibrant and beautiful shops and hospitality Christmas style, including face painting, music, a visit from Santa and lots of local stores open for business. Held from 5pm to 9.30pm in Ferguson Street and Douglas Parade.

Carols by Candlelight Altona

Sunday 10th December

Being held at Logan Reserve, Pier Street Altona from 7pm to 9pm. Bring a chair, picnic rug. Candles and programs for sale. Presented by Altona Laverton Council of Churches. Carols will move to St Mary's Catholic Church in the event of inclement weather. 

Carols by Candlelight Altona Meadows

Saturday 16 December

Presented by Hobsons Bay Churches. Outdoors at the Trafalgar Avenue Community Park, Altona Meadows from 7.00pm Children’s activities and pre carol entertainment from 7.00pm, Carols from 8.00pm to 9.30pm. Candles for sale. Bring a picnic rug or chair. Carols will take place indoors at Altona Meadows Community Centre , same address, in the event of inclement weather.

Saturday 16 December

Join Newport Fiddle Folk Club with Carols being held at The Substation, Market Street Newport from 7pm - 9.00pm.

Carols by Candlelight Williamstown

Sunday 17 December

Presented by Hobsons Bay Churches.  Outdoors at Commonwealth Reserve Nelson Place, Williamstown from 7.00pm Children’s activities 8.00pm Carols. Candles for sale. Bring a picnic rug or chair. In the event of inclement weather carols will take place in St Mary's Catholic Church, Cecil Street, Williamstown. 

2017 Victorian Open Water Championship - WOW Challenge

Sunday17 December

Williamstown Swimming and Life Saving Club, in conjunction with Altona Swimming Club, are hosting the 2017 Victorian Open Water Championships at Williamstown Beach.  The Championships are the peak open Water swimming event in Victoria.  This premier swimming event will also incorporate a community participation swimming event, the Williamstown Open Water Challenge (WOW Challenge).  Enjoy a great day out with a range of activities, entertainment, retail and food vendors.  For further information visit www.williamstownslsc.org.au/open-water-championships/
