Free Heritage Walking Tours

Step back in time and unlock the secrets of Williamstown with free guided heritage walking tours. Held every Tuesday  and Friday at 11.45am. Meet at the Hobsons Bay Visitor Information Centre, Commonwealth Reserve, Nelson Place, Williamstown.

Hobsons Bay Libraries Autumn School Holiday Program

With special guests including the Australian Ballet bringing STEAM dance, and local author Claire Saxby sharing her newest book Dingo, these school holidays are going to be EPIC at Hobsons Bay Libraries.  Broccoli catapults, taster-bots and Morse-code bracelets are sure to keep the kids entertained! 5x7 Art Prize 2018

Arts at Your Doorstep - MACDETH

Wednesday 11 April

Heritage Hobsons Bay - Part of the National Trust Heritage Festival 2018

18 April to 20 May

Explore Hobsons Bay during the Australian Heritage Festival.  Discover the history and heritage from waterfront Williamstown, the original port of Melbourne, to the 176 year old Altona Homestead built by the Langhorne family - early settlers in Melbourne's West.  Join us for a program of events and guided walking tours or travel along the 24-Kilometre coastal trail with interpretive markers that narrate our unique heritage stories along the route. At various locations - All events are Free. 

 

Spotswood - Industrial Heritage Walking Tour

Thursday 19 April

The tour includes a visit to the Pumping Station located within Scienceworks, and utilises the Museum Victoria Spotswood Industrial Tour App.  The app uses audio, video and historical photographs to show the evolution of Spotswood.  Non-app users are also welcome to attend. Tour departs from Scienceworks, 2 Booker Street, Spotswood, 9.30am to 1pm. Part music performance, part installation - ONO presents an evening of international and local guests exploring the undercurrents of music today; where the room, the artists and the audience all form part of the storyline.
