Newport Folk Festival

Saturday 1 and Sunday 2 July

Celebrate the spirit of music as the Newport Folk Festival returns in its seventhyear. Music includes gypsy, ukulele, choral, bush orchestra, old time string orchestras, brass, a capella, roots, percussion, and more including performances, workshops, opportunities to participate, learn or just enjoy.  For Program details visit http://www.nffc.org.au/. NAIDOC Week takes place across Australia each July to celebrate the history, culture and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. The week is a great opportunity to participate in a range of activities and to support your local Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community.

NAIDOC Week Community Flag Raising

Kororoit Creek Shared Trail Opening and Public Art Launch

Sunday 30 July, 10 am to 1pm

Hobsons Bay City Council, Friends of Lower Kororoit Creek and Toyota Australia invite you to the opening of the first major section of the Kororoit Creek Shared Trail and the launch of Geoffrey Ricardo's public art commission, Spirits of Time and Place.  Join us planting trees, plants and native grasses along the banks of the creek to celebrate National tree Day and enjoy a free BBQ lunch and entertainment for the whole family. For more information, please go to www.hobsonsbay.vic.gov.au
